Design Concept: Banks and notes

  • Bank notes were beginning to be popularized in London during the mid 18th century.

  • This comedy of manners satirizes the more affluent gentry of the time.

  • Secret notes are a critical plot device.

Exercise: To design costumes made out of an unconventional material.

  • I choose to design costumes made out of heavy paper.

  • I could support the concept by costuming my characters in bank notes.
